It's a cool place on the UWS and they have live cover bands, which are usually quite good. The main seating area can get a bit loud with music and patrons talking, the back speak easy space is much calmer and feels nice and cozy. The cocktails are great, plenty of food options and usually a good time. But if you want a quite and intimate conversation, this spot would be a bit too loud. Can sit at the bar or a table, service is very efficient and fast. Can always grab a few cocktails on your way to a party. :)

Prohibition is a must-go, neighborhood gem! We had brunch there last Sunday, and the food is delicious. I loved the Tuna Tartare and the gnocchi. My son loved his Sea Bass. Everything is fresh and delish! The service is great; the staff is friendly and so attentive. The Bloody Marys are spicy and beautifully garnished. They have mocktails, too. The bar scene is lively and the live music is a rare treat these days, especially in this neighborhood. GREAT place!

We reached out to host our wedding after party at Prohibition and David was incredibly responsive and accommodating, despite it being a last-minute plan and a very busy Saturday night in the city. And it turned out to be EXACTLY what we needed -- the live music was an absolute blast for our guests to dance to and went until very late, and the bartenders were friendly and mixed amazing drinks. The speakeasy area in the back has very comfortable couches which were welcome after a night of dancing! Absolutely amazing space and vibe, can't wait to be back!

This place is a must go to. They not only have really good food, but great drinks and live music most nights! I would always walk by this place and always seems crowded and lively. You can hear the live music from the outside and we were so pleased when we finally were able to go! We went here for restaurant week, and sometimes I feel like restaurant week is not a good representation of a restaurant, but here the food was so good. I had some of the best salmon I've ever had. My favorite appetizer we tried was the spicy Cesar salad. It was one of those menus were you just want to order every appetizer. I was torn between the salmon and the vegetarian option, pesto gnocchi. I don't think you could go wrong. The staff was lovely, very attentive and personable. We were there on a nice day and sat outside on the patio near the sidewalk, but on a colder or rainy day the inside also has a fun feel to it. We will be back!

Definitely a great vibe! Everyone was so nice and friendly and the live band was great! The band had excellent energy and the whole room was dancing! I would absolutely go back!

This is my favorite bar in New York. INCREDIBLE cocktail menu!! My favorite drink is the Bearcat. But also the Frozen Cosmo. Sooooo good!! We also had dinner. Great menu selections, and so much flavor. They had music, which was a fun vibe to hang out to. The staff were terrific. Special shout-out to Ryan, our fun server who took incredible care of us. We put in a special request with our reservation, which was granted and re-confirmed before we sat down. Loved the care that was provided to our group!

Went here for the music on Saturday. Great band. Very crowded, but that's because it's a fun place with a good band and fun vibe. We sat at bar seats for first half hour and ordered our wine and beer. Just before band starts, they move the bar seats. So ok, we stand for the rest. Fun music made all worthwhile!

Found this place on Yelp and came here for drinks with the boys. Had an amazing time. The bartender Jess was very welcoming and friendly. She made really good recommendations and great cocktails. The speakeasy in the back is the place to be!

Came here on a Saturday night for the bar part so can't comment on the food. There's a $10 cover charge that you can pay by card. They had live music with a band. There are hooks under the bar you can hang your coat. Nice for a casual night out. Nice vibes, definitely an older crowd for sure though.
